Quilt "Flower Power"

€450.00

This quilt has a 70’s vibes and its flower power aesthetic.

The flowers are made following the “Dresden” pattern. A classic pattern in patchwork and quilting.

It’s specificity is that the flowers have to bee hand sewed then on a background, giving this quilt a very hand-made and vintage aesthetic. To add more to the hand-made esthetic, I didn’t follow any regular quilting pattern, and the lines are going wild, like wild flowers.

My quilts represent moments of my life: I wanted to break free from the squares and triangle combination and to explore something out of my comfort zone. I started this quilt in the comfort of my beloved studio, then continued at home and has to put on hiatus as I was leaving Lisbon. I finished it in Bretagne, France, and it was the first project I got myself into while settling in my new home, located in the middle of fields of wild flowers, corn and sunflowers. It looks like it was meant to be this way, and its name came all naturally.
